Consulting Service Hotline 400-658-1808From May 14 to 19, 2015, the science and Technology Archaeology center of Shanghai Institute of Optics and mechanics cooperated with Shaanxi Academy of cultural relics protection and Xianyang cultural protection center, Nanjing paiguang Information Technology Co., Ltd. and Beijing Jiayuan Wenbo Technology Co., Ltd. to explore the materials of jewelry and jade inlaid on ancient crown ornaments, and to carry out scientific restoration, restoration and reproduction By using portable XRF, Raman spectroscopy and video microscope, we have carried out in-situ nondestructive analysis of the crowns of Sui Yang emperor Xiao Hou, Tang Pei and Qing Dynasty.
Among them, Xiao Hou's crown ornament was moved from the archaeological site to the laboratory for detailed cleaning layer by layer. The test and analysis were carried out during the cleaning process. Through in-situ non-destructive analysis, the chemical composition and phase information of the ornaments, gold and silver matrix, soil and accompanying cultural relics can be obtained in time, so as to understand and judge the types of ornaments on the crown ornaments and the production process of gold and silver matrix. Through comprehensive test and analysis, the crowns are mainly decorated with high lead glass beads; Pei's crown ornaments mainly include pearl, crystal, tremolite, turquoise, glass, etc; In the Qing Dynasty, the crown ornaments were mainly composed of gems and jades, mainly including pearls, corals, amber, tremolite, jadeite, spinel, Venus, crystal, cinnabar, etc., while the other was mainly composed of glass, mainly composed of potassium lead, potassium calcium silicate glass, etc.
Prior to this, the science and Technology Archaeology center of Shanghai Institute of Optics and mechanics cooperated with the Shaanxi Provincial Institute of archaeology to conduct in-situ nondestructive analysis of the precious stones, glass and gold ornaments inlaid on the crown of Princess Li Zhuo (the fifth generation descendant of Li Yuan of the Tang Dynasty, died in 736ad), and successfully detected the purple, lavender, red, white, blue-green, colorless, green, purplish red, bright green pendants on the crown There are many kinds of materials used for petals and decoration. This exquisite corolla is decorated with many kinds of accessories, including Amethyst, agate, crystal, turquoise, tremolite, gold, soda lime glass and high lead glass. The relevant achievements have been included in the monograph the TOMBO of lichui (German and English versions have been published, and Chinese version will soon be published).
Combined with the relevant background analysis, the gems and soda lime glass on the crown ornaments of Sui and Tang Dynasties should be imported from the west, while tremolite, pearl and high lead glass may belong to domestic products. It is of great significance to explore the development of handicraft industry and the trade of related raw materials in Tang Dynasty. In the Qing Dynasty, the glass on the crown was mostly made in China, while jadeite, spinel and other gems were imported, which also used the touch jade technology. The base of the crown was mostly gilded copper, and the handle was gilded gold and silver.
