Identification of antiques by elemental spectromet

It is understood that the "scientific appraisal of Chinese folk collections" has aroused great vibration in the collection circle since it arrived in Panyu. Many collectors have taken out their treasures that have been hidden at home for many years for appraisal. After several days of appraisal by experts, it is found that most of the collections collected by the collectors in Panyu are ancient ceramics, and most of the collections are in the late Ming and late Qing Dynasties, And 50 percent of them have fakes.

A complete set of 500 arhat porcelain plates and Shuihu porcelain comic plates collected by collectors in Panyu city are of high collection value. In a few days' appraisal, a bowl of Jun kiln was found, which belongs to Jun kiln red burst. According to the jargon of the collection circle, "Jun kiln red burst is worth a lot of money.". According to the results of spectrograph, the relevant components of the bowl are consistent with the data of Jun glazed porcelain in the middle of the 14th century (1301-1400), which belongs to Jun kiln products.

Energy dispersive X-ray fluorescence spectrometry (EDXRF) is a non-destructive method for the identification of ancient ceramics. Through the point detection of the body, color and glaze of a ceramic ware, the analysis results of trace elements are compared with the existing ancient ceramic composition data in the database, from which the consistent time period and production area can be found, So as to determine the "true identity" of a ceramic ware. It is said that the accuracy rate of dating antiques can reach more than 99%. At present, the instrument is also available in the Scientific Laboratory of the Palace Museum in Beijing, but it only detects the palace museum collections.

Shen Youhua, an expert in the "scientific appraisal of Chinese folk collections" activity, said that the spectrometer is only a scientific appraisal of the collection's age and land. As for the value of the collection, it must be seen from the body, glaze, sintering and decoration of porcelain pieces. Generally, collectors believe that the price of colored glaze and low-temperature monochrome glaze is higher than that of blue and white; The price of special shaped components, such as lamps, bottles, furnaces and other miscellaneous porcelain, is higher than that of ordinary bowls, basins, dishes and other common components; The price of fine workmanship or large and small utensils is often higher than that of ordinary objects.
